The AeroPress reusable metal coffee filter is made from premium grade 316 stainless steel, which is much more durable than the 304 grade stainless steel used in other filters.

Tip: Metal filters are more porous than paper filters, so it is true that the water will run through faster. To slow down drip-through, we recommend that you start with a medium-fine grind size. It’s also crucial with the Stainless Steel Filter to shake to level the bed of coffee grounds and pour your water in slowly in circular motions. You can also try partially inserting the plunger and then pulling upwards after you’ve added liquid, which should create a vacuum and hold everything in place until you’re ready to plunge.
